Townhouse Parking Garage (Update)

with 3 comments

You know, I can understand ripping off the entrance gate. Say you want to park in the garage and you don’t have a card to get in, or maybe your girlfriend just broke up with you and you are so furious that you simply have to break something and the gate is the only thing around you. Both reasonable scenarios. However, this absolutely boggles my mind. What possible reason could you have for ripping off the exit barrier? The damn thing goes up automatically. Could someone have been in that much of a rush to get out of the garage that they couldn’t wait literally 3 seconds for the gate to raise, and just plowed through it instead? Who the hell knows. Here’s what I do know. I wrote the last post on the 17th, and a few days later the gate was fixed. Today is the 25th, and the gate was already broken again a few days ago. It took less than a week for the gate to get replaced and destroyed, this time both the entrance and exit gates. Unbelievable.

  1. […] More often than not, it is dismantled by an unknown bandit and removed from the premises. Paul Cardaciotto elaborates on the issue, especially the recent removal of the exit gate as well, on his blog, Rowan Pains. […]

  2. I think the people who live in the Townhouses suffer the most here. I don’t mind sharing the parking lot with people who have connections (i.e. friends in the townhouses) using the parking lot, if they somehow got past the gate…good for them they deserve it.
But what the hell is up with the new gate way located about 50 feet in front of Bunce? How are food deliveries going to get past them? What about if you’re getting picked up? The solution was to place a stronger (like a metal pole) gate in the townhouse parking lot, not to re-locate the actual entrance. Once again, Rowan succeeds at being complete idiots. And the people who obviously aren’t running their own gate (like myself) b/c they have passes suffer from Rowan’s stupidity. Frustrating.

  3. Rumor has it we get charged for each gate torn down at the end of the year.
